Therapeutic Effect of 10% Trichloroacetic Acid Injection in Conjunctival Inclusion Cysts

Purpose: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of intralesional injection of Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) 10% in patients with conjunctival inclusion cyst. Methods: In 10 patients including 3 children, TCA 10% was injected into the conjunctival cyst and the patients were followed-up for at least 6 months. We included ophthalmic and anophthalmic cases. Results: Mean follow up time was 18 months and all patients were treated successfully. Recurrence was not seen in any cases. This method was used in patients with multiple cysts, pediatrics, followed by eye discharge, strabismus surgery, or blowout with favorable results. Conclusion: Intralesional injection of TCA 10 % is a safe, simple, and successful treatment in all patients with conjunctival inclusion cysts, including ophthalmic cases and anophthalmic cases.
